This durable and easy-to-use self-monitoring asthma device consists of a turbine and an ergonomically designed detachable mouthpiece. The meter works on the principle of light interruption and can measure about 60-800L flow per minute with (+-) 10 percent accuracy. It requires a minimum of 100lux illuminance and can be operated at a minimum temperature of 0 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 50 degrees Celsius.

The device features a user-friendly compact design that can fit in a pocket easily as it embodies a reusable mouthpiece and a smart peak flow meter. After attaching the mouthpiece to the turbine it can be connected to a smartphone using the compatible Smart Asthma app from App Store or Google easily. The app asks the users to perform three blows and save the highest of the three values. The test results so obtained are shown in a chart form which is retrievable during the next doctor visit.
